Hi! How is it working?

Just back after some years I have 2 FT897s the other is the 1st lot with the week outputs and the settings on each are way off most are on over 200 I think guy I got it from had a good play I have been trying to get the settings from other radios as am thinking of just setting the one not working as it should to same settings as my good one so do you have a list of your settings just to see the difference. as on the PDF it has default and my good radio is very close only 1 or 2 diggits out

What does accessing the service menu on the FT-897D actually allow the user to do?

just wiind it up inside with a small screw driver in the tiny middle hole and wind up the Deveation by the blue pot nearest the centre. ..flat out 28w. just pull it back a nip! they run forever

Can you share how to set this up?

If you are so anal about your repeater system that you need a kerchunk filter, you're a waste of bandwidth.

been working with mine after a repair job by a local tech, the tech replaced the front panel which held the display. I had error in the voltage showing 9v instead of 13.8 and at times 22volts after talking how to correct the problem I got it back to partial repair, still not 100% yet but getting there. Programs like this is helping me and its good to see it

What type of antenna you have ?

Wow this is an old post. I have one of these units in a truck that I have recently repaired the power supply to. Are these units UHF frequency? Or are they only AM or CB as they we call in Australia??

You can't see in the video where the memory function button is.. having said that I have an FT-857d so it may be elsewhere.

What is remote base?

That repeaters long gone now. got took off air due to a faulty repeater, came back on a new frequency with a new keeper who then gave it up and switched it off, now back on again with a new keeper, new location and new repeater. repeaters now days are pretty much shit, and they all require CTCSS to access them.
